XXL July issue will showcase Gucci Mane, Soulja Boy, OJ Da Juiceman, and Shawty Lo for their "Hood to Hood" cover. Maybe it should be called "Bunk to Wack" because none of them are worth a cover. Sorry.

Gucci Mane does put out some hood booty classics, but trust, he'll stay underground for the duration of his career. Until OJ stops spending money on jewelry and fix that crooked picket fence grill of his I won't take him seriously. You already know how I feel about Soulja Boy and Shawty Lo...they're both irrelevant. NEXT!

The only people they're missing is T-Baby and Soulja Girl! "I'M PRESSIN' CHARGES!"

Vibe Is REACHING

Posted In: , . By A. Red

You know what they need to just go out of print already! The last thing I heard they were about to go belly up. Now here they are trying to capitalize off the Rihanna and Chris Brown murk session. Little do they know, the blogs and most entertainment news shows have beat this story like a stripper at a bachelor's party. OLD NEWS. Hell give me the damn magazine and I'll turn that mug around in two months.

MAD, MAD, MAD at Keyshia Cole on the cover giving the infamous ghetto, hood booty pose. All she's missing is a lollipop stuck in her ponytail, some jeans with rubber bands at the bottom, and "R.I.P. Killa" airbrushed on her shirt. SMH Her makeup is flawless though.

Am I the only one who could give two shits about King flopping? I never even flipped through one. Meh....

Oh... Joe Budden's biznitegirlfriend is also featured on this last issue. That was just too much nekkid ass for me to be posting this early in the morning. You can skip to another blog to view her.

Keyshia looks great on this new cover of Billboard. However, I hate the fact she have all those tattoos like she's straight out of the penitentiary. It takes away from the elegant look she was going for.

Is the french roll and buns coming back? Say it ain't so....

Hoopz Cover Kings

Posted In: , . By A. Red

Hoopz has a nice figure, but her face is giving me tranny too. Is it me or are the women in the industry getting skronger in the face as the years progress? Maybe it's the Homey The Clown makeup. And peep where it says "Teairra Mari: Good Girl Gone Bad." Sorry sweetie, but Ri-Ri already wore that title out. The new title should be "Swagger Jacking Gone Bad" because it's getting out of hand.

Lil Wayne sat down with Blender Magazine in an weed/syrup daze and talked about everything from his childhood to being the best in the game.

Wayne admitted to having a uncontrolled urgency since he was a kid. He never played with the other kids growing up. While they were running around he was practicing his rap skills.

“I wasn’t ever no action-figure kid,” he says. “If I wanted to fight, I’d fight for real.” Wayne thanks his mother, Cita Carter, for this mentality. A tough-as-nails chef, she raised him by herself, teaching him early on how to act like a man. When he was in junior high, she gave him his first Glock, with instructions to empty it into the first guy that messed with him.

His ma dukes also celebrated him getting his tear tattoo, even though a tear tattoo pretty much means you've taken your enemy out.

I asked my mother permission to get it, and she respected my choice,” he recalls. “When I came home and showed it to her, she told me, ‘Boy, I might have to get one of those for myself!’” (source, click to read the entire interview)

*Stares at everything I just wrote above in shock*

Wow...um, I don't think I can even blame Wayne now. His mom had to be really young when she had him because she raised him rough. Somebody give him a hug. No wonder he was so grown at a young age.

One of favorite songs came from Weezy when he was a shawty. Anybody that knows me from my college days will tell you that this was one of my favorite sayings.....

Both Michelle Obama and Kanye West made Vanity Fair 08 Best Dressed list. They were both picked under the "Internationally Best Dressed" category. I've never really watched Michelle's fashion, but I'm a stan for Kanye and I love how he gets down on the fashion tip, so big ups!

I just need to go shopping with Ye once. Somebody make it happen!

Tatyana Ali sat down with KING magazine to talk about her past and future. I think she looks great ! I was happy to hear she graduated with honors from Harvard. Impressive...

It’s very rare to see a child actor flee from Hollyweird to get a higher education. Those “don’t do drugs” campaigns must have seeped in.

College was my opportunity to be around my peers, which you don’t get to do when you’re a child actor. And I wanted to be normal and see what else was out there, see what else I was good at. And there are some other things that I’m good at.

Such as?
I’m good at the sciences, I love learning about plants. You know, I’m a dork…it’s cool. I’ve come to terms with that and I dig it a little.

What are your thoughts on black Hollywood?

It’s kind of like the Wild West out there, and not just for black Hollywood. In a traditional sense, things look bad—there are people out of work, shows aren’t going up and a lot of films aren’t being made, because of the fear of actors going on strike. But I think it’s a real fertile time to stake your claim. With things up in the air, it creates new space for people who are trying to break through, business-wise.

The same can be said about the music business, yet you’re still dropping a new album.
I found my voice with this album, The Light. I can never stop singing. Remember, I recorded my first album [1998’s Kiss the Sky, MJJ Music] when I was 16, and other people wrote most of the songs. I really wanted the next album that I did to express who I am. And the only way I can do that is to write it myself. So in that sense, I found my voice.

I'm not too sure how I feel about another album from her. That first one was a disaster. I remember my brother had it and I roasted him for actually buying it instead of burning it. People need to stop trying to be the jack of all trades and stick to what they're good at. Hopefully she'll come out and shock us all.

Ciara is on the cover of Billboard Magazine looking great! She has really grown up. Inside she talks about her upcoming album 'Fantasy Ride,' her straight to DVD movie Mama I Just Want to Sing, and model contract with Willhelmina.

She has come a loooong way! Y'all remember her Wet n' Nappy (not Wet n' Wavy) weave from the Goodies video...major upgrade.

Man I swear Mary J. Blige gets better with age. She's pictured above on the cover of Vegas magazine. I've never heard of this magazine, but I know she worked the cover! She's one of the only black women who pulls the blonde hair off without looking too ghetto. If she can pass those bangles over I'll be one happy sista.

Kelly Rowland was spotted the UK, her second home. They adore her over there so I guess she's staying where she's appreciated. I'm not mad at her.The colors in her maxi dress compliment her skin tone so well. She radiating, even with her "get the hell out of the way" face. I've always been a fan of Kelly; her music and her personal style. She needs to exude more confidence about herself and the public will follow suit.

Two Thumbs Up Ebony!

Posted In: , . By A. Red

Ebony Magazine is paying tribute to our positive, successful men and I am ecstatic! Black Cool will chronicle the lives of 25 black men who have that cool facade or should I say "Swagger." *snickers at JT*

*Drools at Billy D Williams and pumps my fist at Barack*

I truly applaud Ebony for this! Day in and day out, we see our brothers being caught and highlighted for doing ignorant crap, we forget about the ones who make us proud to be black women. Thank God we still have magazines actually putting out quality material worth spending our money on and reading! No need to say any names....it's not enough room in this post for all of them anyway.

You can vote for who you believe has the most swagg at www.ebonyjet.com/coolmen/

Thanks for emailing me this Ginger!

The world finally gets to see Ursher pride and joy. He and his son are featured on the cover of Essence magazine. Usher talks about marriage *yawn* and fatherhood throughout the interview.

In the last year, you got married and you've had a baby. Which has changed you more?
USHER:
They're both linked—I can't have one without the other. But the one thing that changed me the most is having a wife. Our child is an extension of that union.

Why?
USHER:
Because now I represent what he is to become. He's gonna admire me, he's gonna look up to me. He's gonna say, "I wanna be"—or he should say— "I wanna be like my father. I wanna be a man of valor. I wanna possess what my father has as a man." To get married was a choice. To have a child is a responsibility. (source)

I think that's a adorable picture of them. They should have put Maneka on there, so we could see all 3 generations of men together.

50 cent claims he don't partake of the groupies goodies in the latest issue of Vibe magazine.

"
I’ve been in hotel rooms, and girls were already there in the closet - naked,” the New York City native told ‘Vibe,’ adding that he never partakes: “Hell, no! Are you kidding me?”

I believe you 50. I wouldn't either if I knew Lloyd Banks would show up later in a French maid outfit, with Yayo following in his kneepads. I ain't mad at ya.

Angela Simmons is on her grind. She has her own shoe line, Pastry, and her own magazine, Angela's Rundown. Now she wants to add music artist to her accomplishments. Click here to see her promo video.

I'm not too sure about this one. But I like Angela so I'll give her a chance. I wish I could go to my daddy and tell him I want my own magazine. I've been saying that since I was 5 and all I got is a free blog. Aint that a bish...

I hope she's a better artist than her brother Jo Jo.

Serena Williams and her famous booty is on the cover of Ebony July edition. I can honestly say she looks great. *gasp* I'm glad to see her looking all glam.

She discussed dating, keeping her body right, and her career as an athlete in this issue. She stated, "“It’s too hot in the summer to cook, so I love to grill chicken and fish." (source)

WHAT?! All this time I've been trying to get my Buffy the Body on and all I had to do was kill Chicken Little and Nemo for dinner. Color me surprised.

I wanted her to talk more about Common. He is a helluva man and I just wanted to live vicariously through her for a split second so I could see what that be like.
