LOVE, LOVE, LOVE AND MISS 90'S Music! This joint "was off the hinges" (throwback term LOL) back in the day. Real music and music singing. I'd like to smack Pretty Ricky with a pair of Shaq's sweaty basketball shorts for thinking they could imitate them!

R.I.P. DINO

Am I the only one who misse Soul Train on Saturday mornings? I used to get up bright and early to watch it. Practicing my soul train dance the entire week. HITTING IT. LOL They used to be lip synching hard as hell on here. *dies*

"Is it wrong for me to feel this way, you been running through my mind all day. Can you feel me? I been tryna get you off my mind, but I can't after all this time that's what kills me."

3 years and I still feel like this from time to time. *sighs* Anyway, this is one of my fav's by Bow Wow. T-Pain and Johnta Austin just made this song POP!

Anybody ever feel like this?

Throwback Of The Day

Posted In: , , . By A. Red

A young Slim put this song in my head yesterday, so I decided to make it a throwback. I'm still pissed Ja let 50 take him off his square like that. This song was THE JAM back in the day. Before we knew Ashanti couldn't dance or sing her way out of a cardboard box. All these people fronting and acting like they didn't eff with Ja are LIARS. He had the game on lock back then.

It's Murdaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

I've been bumping Lil Kim's Hardcore album like she JUST dropped it. I miss the old Kim. She came out with no holds barred back in the day. She turned the world upside down with how crass she was. LOL But everyone grew to love and accept her.

I'm just mad my girl messed herself up with all that jacked up surgery. I hope she gets it together. I'm ready for her to come back out and rep for the ladies.

Check out a video of the OLD KIM getting it in before she became all the way known to the world.

When I saw this on C+D, I was completely done for the day. I did not know that Florida Evans had a psychic hotline back in 97. Man...dem 'Good Times' checks were getting slim huh? R.I.P. Esther Rolle. I wonder if she knew that James was gonna die? (rhetorical question)

Aight...thanks to illseed, I found this epic battle between Roxanne Shante and Busy Bee. I know people under 21 are like "who in the hell is that?" This was probably the first recorded battle in hiphop (that I can remember). The year: 1985! Enjoy:

Roxanne Shante vs. Busy Bee - The Battle.mp3 -

Man...eff what you heard, Roxanne took it to dude. I demand a recount.

Eve was spotted a the Hip Hop Honors a few days ago. Is it me or is she looking BRIGHTER lately? Every time I see her she's a lighter shade then the last time. I didn't know getting stabbed by the powder meant you had to try and look like them. SMH

I wonder what's next for her. Her music and acting career have been on halt for a minute now. In honor of how hot she used to be before she got all commercial, here's a throwback of the old "Pit bull in a skirt."

In light of all the foolishness with Ray J and Brandy's brother, C-Dove, *dies at the name* I decided to post one of the songs that made me like Ray J. Front if you want, "Formal Invite" was the ish. We use to get it poppin at the college parties when this came on. I had the biggest crush on him until I learned he probably had crabs, and anything else you could think of, doing the "dougie" on his member. Ew....

Ray J better watch his setup because his brother is out to KILL him. Literally....click the link above to learn more.

Am I the only one that remember or liked this song?

Bobbay!!!!! Dude was the new age David Ruffin, I promise. He definantely got his shine on this song. He was like, "eff y'all niccas! I know this is a group video, but bish...I'm Bobby Brown!" His swag permeated (yes, I've been waiting to use that word) the whole video. Of course Ralph with the crushed velvet 'Sensitivity' swag had to have his small part. Johnny "I can't make a straight face when I see him" Gill with the Tommy (off Martin) swag. No matter what piece of nice clothing you put on Devoe, he is not a looker. But you know BBD had to rap on it, which brings up an ephiphany...

New Edition = 1 rap group + 2 Solo artists + 1 Diva (male).
Let's see if that forumla still works...

New(er) Edition? = The Lox + Tank & Avant + R. Kelly.....FAIL!

Anyways, back to the video. This was the era where Missy was on ev-ery single track, and (pre-proactiv) Puff's stank breath was talkin all on stuff. Ahh...those were the days.

Yeah. I remember when "The Box" was out, and this video was up for selection. They would play snippets in the background until someone ordered a video. (NOTE: I think we should bring "The Box" back). Anyways, this joint was off the Hoodlum Soundtrack.

(*contemplates renting the movie*)

I tried to see what she was up to these days. I found her myspace page, but myspace is blocked here at the workplace, so I'ma have to rely on the replies. (http://www.myspace.com/idavinamusic)

The second video is the remix with Raekwon:

First of all...eff what you heard (or see). I bet you Bobby Brown's wedding vows that dude at the beginning of the video is Jamie Foxx (before the fame). If not, then dayum! This joint has been in my head for like 2 weeks now, so I had to post it. Yep, 1988. Most of y'all youngins were just conceived.
