Hip Hop DX dug up Plies background and found he has no history of running into problems with the law. Consequently, they're calling him a fraud.

The FDLE’s criminal record for Plies shows that the self-described “goon affiliated, ex drug dealer” who’s “resume solid, street cred bigger” has been arrested just twice within his home state of Florida during his adult life, with both arrests taking place two years ago.

The 32-year-old was arrested for the first time at the age of 29 on April 12, 2006 for the misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer without violence.

I don't agree (and not because I like him). Not getting caught is a good thing. Hell that would mean he was actually a smart hustler. I know a lot of guys whose been doing they're thing in the streets but are so low key nobody actually know how hard they're getting down. It's the dumb, flossy, always bragging, "not use to having shit" idiots that get caught.

I'm going to need more evidence. Lyrics to his songs don't count because he could be speaking in 3rd person about his brother/friends situations that he's witnessed. If anyone believe that rappers base all their songs on THEIR personal experiences you're naive as hell.

I'm on the wall with this song. He's talking some real ish in this video. He speaking to truth to all the street pharmacist that believe rolling around on 24's and making it rain in the club who thinks all of that is worth their lives.

The thing about Plies is he's versatile. He can make "Shawty" and "Bust it Baby" for the ladies, and then turn around and make a hood anthem. I can see the duded eating this song up.

I.will.not.deal with his elementary "sex" gestures with his hands at 3:00. Act your age not your height Algernod.The crazy part about him is that he's a educated guy. He has a college degree and is really bright if you listen to his interviews. But he eff's it all up by saying words like "Galo" instead of "Galore."

Well I'll be darned. Plies mos def is a real nigga. Check out this interview with Wild 98.7 where he talks about his brother, his new album, and life period. Algernod *falls out* does have a little sense and intelligence.

The interview is rather long, so you can fast forward through some of it, but Plies is seriously talking some real ish and I may get the cd because the cut with the Patty LaBelle sample is HOTT!

He's actually talking about more than sex on this album. Go figure...
