I'm not even a big tv watcher, but I watched a few episodes of Brutha's show on BET and I can honestly say IT BLEW ME. It showcased how black men...hell men in general think it's okay to be "sometime" parents. Their father was clearly just a sperm donor (especially to two of them) but he felt he should be exempt from their scorn and disdain of him because he "taught them how to sing." WTF? Since when does singing help you get through life? What about the birds and bees talk? Or teaching them how to behave like men? Better yet, how about showing them how to talk out their problems without fighting?
Father: "I thought we would be able to sit around and harmonize like we used to."
Me: *throws remote at the television*
From my perspective, their father is using them as a meal ticket. He kept reiterating how much he wanted to be there because their about to make it big and he doesn't want to be on the sidelines when it happened. I call BS. If they were just regular joes, working regular jobs, he would still be too busy chasing panties to even worry about what those boys were doing.

You know my tv watching behind caught all of this last week and I have to say... I'm sprung on this show. I was shocked at first when the uncle started right in on the daddy, but after I realized why - I had to rewind it all and watch his no-good sperm doning behind again and I was rooting for the uncle to get in another lick.. Those boys have a right to be upset and all the daddy had was threats of cutting a mofo... WTF?? How about you dole out some of that past due child support checks I'm sure you still owe living in a just above ghetto ass condo... *smh* He better be glad he taught them boys to sing.. the question is did you teach them to wear condoms Mr I'm-going-to-be-fruitful-and-multiply????
You and me both! My heart goes out to those men because they got a shitty ass example of what it means to be a man a.k.a their daddy. I was SO pissed when they pulled the uncle off of him. I wanted him to WHIP his butt like he stole something. Cursing that boy out like that. As if he had no reason to feel hurt and upset. That's why I can't be a parent. I WISH a nucca would try to step away from his responsibilities. No sir..you'll have to DIE out of your parental role and I'll have no problems taking you out before I let you hurt my kid like that.
